Crispy And Spicy Fried Tofu Recipe

This Crispy Fried Tofu recipe is a handy vegetarian recipe to make in advance if you love eating salads or fancy something nice and crispy yet spicy. Making Crispy Fried Tofu doesn't take too long and keeping it in the fridge can help add some extra power to salads, curries, ramen, sandwiches and anything else you feel like making.



  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 400g of tofu
  • 1 tablespoon of chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon or paprika


Step 1

Place the coconut oil into a frying pan and slice the tofu into thin pieces lenthways.

Step 2

Place the tofu into the fraying pan and let it cook for 5 minutes on each side do both sides are a nice brown color.

Step 3

Once the tofu has browned, add the tablespoon of chilli powder and make sure it covers the top side of each tofu slice. Flip them over so the chilli powder sides are face down. Let it cook for 2 minutes.

Step 4

Cover the top side with the paprika then flip the tofu pieces so the paprika side is face down. Let it cook for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Use a pan lid to press the tofu down so that it crisps up. Do this for 5 minutes on each side and leave it to cook.

Step 6

The tofu sould be nice and crispy on both sides. Remove the tofu from the pan and let it cool before placing it into the fridge. If the tofu needs to cook longer, let it and leave it to cook for another 5 minutes.
